Resource Recovery

Rethinking Waste. Recovering Value.

Helping suitable biodegradable materials move away from unnecessary disposal and return to productive use.

Our Programme

Materials, Not Simply Waste

Greenhoof Organics is developing a responsible organic-resource recovery programme to help suitable biodegradable materials move away from unnecessary disposal and return to productive use.

We view these materials not simply as waste, but as resources that require appropriate assessment, handling and processing.

Service Pathway

How a Recovery Arrangement Works

A clear, staged approach so partners understand what happens to their material.

  1. Step 1

    Understand the material

We learn what the material is, where it comes from and how it is currently handled.

  2. Step 2

    Assess its suitability

We consider composition, contamination risk, volume and handling requirements.

  3. Step 3

    Determine the recovery method

Composting, vermicomposting or another appropriate biological route is selected.

  4. Step 4

    Arrange collection or delivery

Logistics are agreed so material moves responsibly and predictably.

  5. Step 5

    Sort and process

Material is inspected, separated and prepared for processing.

  6. Step 6

    Regenerate through an appropriate system

Biological processing converts material into a usable soil product.

  7. Step 7

    Record and communicate the outcome

Volumes and outcomes are recorded so partners can see the result of their participation.

Compliance

Responsible by Requirement

Only suitable organic materials will be considered. All resource-recovery and waste-management activities must be developed and conducted in accordance with applicable environmental, municipal, health, safety and operational requirements.
